The first step was to excavate a trench along the perimeter of the basement floor to install a weeping tile system. This drainage pipe collects any water that seeps through the foundation and redirects it safely away from interior surfaces.
To further protect the basement, we installed Delta board, a durable dimpled membrane applied to the foundation walls. This creates a protective barrier, ensuring that any moisture that penetrates the foundation is guided down into the drainage system rather than affecting the interior walls.
Once the weeping tile system and Delta board were in place, we backfilled the trench with gravel and poured new concrete over it, seamlessly restoring the basement floor. The collected water is directed toward a sump pit, where a sump pump ejects it outside through drainage pipes, typically leading to the backyard or another designated drainage area.
